2022 is a year for partnership and collaboration.
Charter for Compassion International and Compassionate Austin inspired our initiatives as the decade of 2020 provided a clear vision of compassionately navigating diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives. 2022 is a year for partnerships and collaborations and DEIwithCompassion continues to investigate the spectrum of harmony and evaluate ways to address the harm found within harmony in order to cultivate creative justice opportunities.
Our 2022 partners will focus on both the Golden and Platinum Rules and discover how DEI plays a part in PIES - the physical, intellectual, emotional, and spiritual aspect of our lives.
Our parent company, The Golden Rule 3.14 Group, provides talking, learning, and healing circles that compliment any organization’s DEI and social justice initiatives. These circles support and motivate community members to become transformational leaders.

Charter for Compassion Wheel
The natural starting point for changing our world for the better is us.
“A festivus for the rest of us” is a celebration that originated from a tv series; we’d like to apply it to all of us. Our festivus began with The New Story Journey Festival, 2019 where I met Sara Ness of Authentic Revolution and Gareth Higgins of Porch Magazine. The celebration evolved into an online monthly exploration of The Seventh Story where I served as the Social and Emotional Learning Consultant and hosted a workshop with Dr. Charles Barker and Dr. Omar Reda called Moving Onto Both/And. In our third year, I provided a monthly Taste of Compassion that complimented the efforts of our various speakers and presented a workshop that addressed ways in which the village could be trained to address diversity and inclusion while providing psychological first aid.
This “festivus for the rest of us” was connected to Compassionate Austin and Charter for Compassion and it also led to my becoming a mentor for the youth of this organization as we collaborated on developing an ‘unconference’ called Compassion Uprising. Each youth and mentor developed a concept and I was drawn towards Riya’s plans for “Compassion Tribe”. Riya and I are focused on PIES - the physical, intellectual, emotional, and spiritual aspects of life, which also correlates to a leadership program offered by Brother Phil Lane, Jr. and Four Worlds International.
Sometime in the future, I’d like to bring Riya’s and Brother Phil’s concepts to all of us that are emerging into the 7th Generation. Would you like to join us?
